Baby Birds & Herbs!

This week has been filled with excitement, but it has nothing to do with our wedding. Even though most of the blog will be about our wedding preparation, I also want to blog about any and everything that goes on this year.

I planted a herb "garden" last week.  I little on the small side, but it does the trick. I love fresh herbs and use them all the time in recipes during the summer.

{sweet basil, lemon thyme, rosemary, & oregano}
The lovely "R" decoration was a present from my sweet friend Anna.
Lilly, our Jack Russell, loves the herb "garden." She is so spoiled, I don't think she knows she is a dog!

We also had four baby birds hatch this past week and I will honestly admit I check on them every hour to make sure they are OK.

When Momma Bird leaves to find food, I snap as many pictures as possible!

She is one sassy bird! If she is in her nest when I check on them, I get the "death stare" and find myself apologizing out loud to Momma Bird as I watch from the window. She is one scary lady!

Thomas' Birthday!

Thomas turned 23 this past Saturday and all the birthday boy wanted was dinner at a Japanese restaurant.  Our friends Matt and Anna joined along with Thomas' family. Matt and Anna are two of our best friends and we just LOVE them so much! They have been dating for almost five years -- such an adorable couple!

We had a great time! After dinner, we went back to Thomas' to open presents.

Bed, Bath, & Beyond Registry

Last Sunday, we spent all afternoon in Bed, Bath, & Beyond to register for the wedding. Over two hours in the store and we finally finished our registry. One registry down, a lot more to go!

{He had fun using the scanner!}

Clemson Graduation!

Last weekend, I graduated from Clemson University! This year, Clemson made three ceremonies instead of two, which was fantastic. My college of Business and Behavioral Science was a service by itself and only lasted an hour and forty-five minutes. YES!
{The most important piece of information for graduation.  If you get an index card, you are graduating!}
It was so nice to be around all my friends that I had met through the business college.

The family had a great time & I am so blessed they traveled for the day to my graduation.

A great day and another Tiger alumni in the family!

The Maine Engagement: (continued)

Maine was absolutely gorgeous! A must on your "bucket list" if you haven't been. The market of downtown Ogunquit stole my heart. It just makes me happy!

We visited Kennebunkport and saw the Bush Compound.

And the famous Nubble Lighthouse!

The food was fabulous!

We had so much fun! We ate, shopped, and visited so many beautiful towns. Maine is definitely a place to revisit and we will surely be back soon!

The Maine Engagement!

Our engagement was absolutely timeless! Thomas did an amazing job planning a trip to Maine to propose. He proposed on the drawbridge in Perkins Cove overlooking the lobster boats. It was just us when he proposed -- something both us wanted to keep sweet and sentimental between the two of us.

After he proposed, both our families surprised me by flying in on the plane right behind us! This was apart of Thomas' plan and I was absolutely thrilled!

After our families arrived, we enjoyed the rest of our vacation visiting towns and eating amazing  lobster rolls!

A Southern Couple!

Thomas & I met eight years ago in our small southern town of Camden. Thomas is as southern of a gentleman as they come.

He graduated from Clemson University last December in Turfgrass Management and currently works for a company in Columbia.

As anyone in the South knows, hunting is a big part of our culture and Thomas takes full advantage of it.

As for me, I also graduated from Clemson University with a degree in Business Management last weekend.

I love politics, a good book, family, and friends. A Saturday morning at the Farmer's Market or a local town event always puts me in a good mood.

I am so very blessed with beautiful friends and family, but also a wonderful fiance who I grow in love with more each and everyday!

Welcome!

Welcome to Bow Ties & Pearls! I am so thrilled to be starting a blog that will capture all the moments up till our wedding day! We hope you enjoy reading our blog as much as we enjoy sharing our times with you!
